Harvard leaders and Tishman Speyer CEO Rob Speyer, alongside Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and other local and state officials, gathered to mark the completion of the Enterprise Research Campus’s first phase in Allston last week.
Harvard President Alan Garber highlighted the campus as a hub for researchers, entrepreneurs, and creative minds to collaborate on innovative ideas and develop future industries. “The spaces we have built will evolve, supporting excellence in various forms for many, many years to come,” Garber noted.
Speakers at the event emphasized the transformation from a vacant lot since the project’s approval by Boston in 2022 into a dynamic mixed-use district. Mayor Wu remarked on the area’s evolution from industrial use to a community space, made possible by the collaboration between Harvard, Tishman Speyer, and other stakeholders.
The completed phase features two commercial lab buildings, known as OneMilestone, Verra Apartments, The Atlas Hotel, the David Rubenstein Treehouse Conference Center, 40,000 square feet of retail and dining, and over two acres of open public space. This development was led by Tishman Speyer and Breakthrough Properties, in partnership with the Harvard Allston Land Company.
Rob Speyer expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress, stating, “Our collaboration has created a place for bold ideas, from the next groundbreaking discovery to world-class hospitality,” and he emphasized the campus’s significance as a destination for Harvard, Allston, and global visitors.
